The Mnoethen of Western Glashia are sometimes called gray elves, or the "old ones" by the shorter-lived races. Pale like the Fpathen, the Mnoethen have either silver hair and amber eyes, or pale golden hair and violet eyes. When encountered, they are usually found in bright garments of white, gold, silver, or yellow, wearing cloaks of deep blue or purple. They are always found to be wielding a long sword of the brightest metal and holding a long bow of the strongest wood and of the finest string, with arrows truer than any other. Because they value intelligence and solitude very highly, devoting much time to study and contemplation, the Mnoethen are fierce warriors, as well as magicians, when it comes to maintaining their independence and isolation from the outside world.

Very, very little is know of the homestead of the Mnoethen. Most are said to live within a hidden valley located deep in the Innocus Mountains, although a few can be found in the larger Fpathen cities, and very rarely within the largest of the human cities - Gideon of the Kingdom of Langington is but one example. Here a handful of Mnoethen maintain a small school of white magic, taking on only Fpathen pupils, for they feel like the Fpathen are their "younger siblings" in life, and the Mnoethen's learned knowledge should be passed down.

The Mnoethen do not establish friendships with humans very often, seeing as though the "old ones" have been known to live well beyond 3,000 years, and find the Dervatear too strict a people to even socialize with. They are comfortable with the Fpathen and tolerate the Pseithen, the latter simply because they are of elven blood; the Tsuthen, on the other hand, they don't hold as being of elven blood, so the Mnoethen discard their kind completely. The Mnoethen's relationship with the Havanathe is much like that of the other races of Western Glashia - peaceful and respectful. Like the Fpathen and Pseithen, the Mnoethen have a great love for music and poetry, as well as magic; the more powerful the magic, it seems, the better. They have very strong feelings toward religion, worshipping the gods of the Greater Heavens most of the time.

At mention of the Tsuthen, most shiver with fear and change the subject quickly. Also known as "tainted" elves, the Tsuthen are ebony skinned, with hair of dirty silver or gray. Fragile, more so than the Fpathen and Pseithen, the Tsuthen are said to be weak warriors, but their grasp of dark magic apparently matches the Mnoethen's of white.

Little else is known of the Tsuthen, save that very, very few can be found in Western Glashia. It is rumored that a vast city of Tsuthen was built thousands of years ago in Alaretra, to the west of Western Glashia, and under a place known as Kron Sortec - The Darkworld's Doorway.
